Materials
Materials in the library include books, magazines, newspapers, music CDs, entertainment and non-fiction videos and DVDs, audio books, income tax forms, career guides, college catalogs and local history materials. Search our Library Catalog for listings.

Computer Access

Equipment the library maintains for public use:
- Wireless Internet Access
- Computers available:
- Computers for searching our Library Catalog.
- Computers for searching our online databases.
- Computers with Rosetta Stone to learn a new language. Headsets with microphones available at the Information Desk for use in the library.
- Adaptive Technology Computer for specialized needs.
- Adult Computers are for patrons in 9th grade or higher with internet access, Microsoft Student with Encarta, Office 2007software (Excel, FrontPage, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Word) and CD burning software. Headphones are available to purchase for $1.
- Express Internet stations with a 15-minute time limit for visitor access.
- Creation Station with the same software as the Adult Computers plus microfilm reader and flatbed scanner capable of scanning photos, negatives or text. A digital camera memory reader available at the Reference Desk to print photos. Photo-quality printer available to print 4"x6" photos.
- CyberZone Computers are for patrons in the 8th grade or under with the same software as the Adult Computers plus TumbleBooks, Dora the Explorer and various Magic School Bus programs. Headphones available for use. Adults may sit at the same computer with a child and assist them at the CyberZone computers.
Guidelines for Computer Use:
- A valid library card and PIN or a Visitor Pass, which is available at the Reference Desk, is required to use all computers except the Library Catalogs and Express Internet stations.
- The session time limit is one hour and users are limited to three hours per day.
- Users must follow our Internet Acceptable Use Policy.
- No cell phone calls at the computers.
- Files may be saved to a CD, a USB device or temporarily to the "My Documents" folder. The Check Out Desk has burnable CDs for $1 & 1GB flashdrives for $5.
- Printing from the computers in black & white costs 10 cents per page and color costs 50 cents per page. Value may be added to your library card or Visitor Pass at either the Check Out or Information Desks

- Photocopiers are available capable of color at 50 cents per page or black & white at 10 cents per page.

Services and Accommodations
Book Drop
The library has a book drop in the front exterior of the building. Patrons are encouraged to use the book drop to prevent overdue fines.
Study Rooms
- A group study room is available for groups of 2-6 individuals. You may call the Library on the day you need a study room to reserve if one is available. Users must check in at the Information Desk before using a study room.
- A quiet study room containing 8 desks for individual study is also available.
Meeting Room
The library has a large meeting room available for groups up to 100. A completed, signed application must be approved by library staff before the reservation can be confirmed. The meeting room policy will provide necessary information for use of the room. The application may be faxed to the Novi Public Library, Attention: Margi Karp-Opperer, at 248-349-6520 or returned to the Library at the above address. Please call the Library for availability.
Display Cases
We have a display case available for individuals (children, too!) and groups to display collections. Call the Library to make reservations.
