Construction Update
As of February 12, the 2nd floor Life tiles are in place with the 1st floor tiles to be delivered later in the week. The structural steel for the canopy at the drive up book return is in place. Carpeting of the 1st floor is in process and will be completed the first of the week. The cafe' cabinets are in place awaiting the Lessee's equipment and the major mill work on the 1st floor is in place. The hand rails at the main stairs are being fitted and returned to the supplier for power coating. The electrical contractor is completing the installation of various fixtures etc. etc.
We will be starting the cleaning in the near future as well as the necessary testing to provide a TCO at the end of March. The electrical punch list has been completed by BEI and will be issued for corrections in the near future. The mechanical punch list will be completed in the near future.
April-May Library Closure
The Novi Public Library will be closed during the months of April and May to prepare for the move to the new Library facility, add new collections, enhance technology infrastructure, and train for new services that will be provided to the Novi community. During this time the Library website will continue to be available, library programs will be available at alternative sites, and other local Libraries will provide library services to the Novi community. Building Authority
The Building Authority is a Commission that oversees the issuance of financing bonds for special projects within the City of Novi. The new Library is one of those projects.
The Building Authority is comprised of:

- Clay Pearson, City Manager
- Kathy Smith-Roy, Finance Director

- Mark Sturing

On February 21, 2008, architects from BEI and Diamond & Schmitt presented schematic designs for the new Novi Public Library to the Building Authority. These updated floor plans show how the two story building is taking shape and the site plan shows its location to the property.
